In my role as the Director General of this office, I am pleased to announce the ambitious initiative of the Directorate URP&SP. This effort focuses on centralizing the dissemination of our activities, reports, plans, strategies, policies, and other relevant documents concerning Urban & Regional Planning assignments.

The primary objective of the Directorate is to transform secondary urban areas into vibrant, eco-friendly, and sustainable cities through the effective implementation of urban and regional plans and policies. In line with this objective, we are committed to continually striving for greater positive social and economic impacts from the standpoint of urbanization. Furthermore, a notable accomplishment of the Directorate is the rejuvenation of Rural Growth Centers, addressing the needs of connected villages through the Poverty Reduction Strategy program.

This endeavor entails close coordination and collaboration with a diverse array of stakeholders, including the Planning & Development Department, Administrative Departments of the Government of Sindh, Federal Ministries, District Administration, Academia, distinguished Architects, Urban Planners, and various Donor Agencies such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Union, and UNDP.

On behalf of the Directorate URP&SP, I extend heartfelt gratitude to the Minister P&D, as well as the Chairman of the Planning & Development Board and the Secretary of Planning, for their unwavering support and guidance.
